What we do
Our conveyancing services

Everything a transfer needs, handled in one office: from the offer you sign to the day the property registers.

Property transfers

We manage the transfer from signed offer to registration in the Deeds Office, keeping every party informed throughout.

Clearances & lodgement

We obtain rates, levy and transfer duty clearances and lodge in the Deeds Office so your registration is not delayed.

Estate & divorce transfers

Transfers arising from deceased estates and divorce settlements, handled together with our estates and mediation teams.

Offers to purchase

We draft and review offers to purchase so you sign a contract that protects you, not just the sale.

Our process
From first call to signed contract

A property transfer moves through fixed legal stages. Most take around three months from sale to registration, and we keep you updated at every one of them.

01
Instruction

We receive the signed sale agreement, collect FICA documents from buyer and seller, and request the title deed and bond details.

02
Clearances

We apply for rates and levy clearance figures, transfer duty from SARS, and coordinate bond cancellation and registration with the banks.

03
Signature

Buyer and seller sign the transfer documents at our offices, and the purchase price or guarantees are secured in trust.

04
Registration

Documents are lodged in the Deeds Office and the property registers eight to ten days later. Ownership officially changes hands.

Costs
Know your transfer costs upfront

Transfer duty, conveyancing fees and clearances add up. Ask us for a written cost estimate before you sign anything, so there are no surprises at registration.

faq
Conveyancing questions, answered

How long does a property transfer take?

Around three months from a signed sale to registration, depending on bond approval, clearances and the Deeds Office. Deceased estate transfers can take longer.

Who pays the conveyancing fees?

The buyer normally pays the transfer and bond costs, while the seller pays for bond cancellation and the agent’s commission. Your sale agreement confirms this.

Do I have to use the seller’s attorney?

The seller usually nominates the conveyancer, but this can be negotiated in the offer to purchase. Ask us before you sign.
